SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
Quokka Sunglasses are made using environmentally sustainable materials that provide a net positive impact on the planet. Our sunglasses are made from recycled polypropylene sourced from the ocean, coasts and ocean-bound waterways, and natural materials such as wheat straw, an organic by-product of harvesting wheat and grains.
We don't stop at the sunglasses either - our cleaning cloths are made from recycled ocean plastics as well, using a polyester fibre derived from PET (most commonly found in plastic water bottles); our sunglass cases are manufactured with biodegradable materials - even our product tags are made of straw and printed with soy-based inks.
100% CARBON NEUTRAL
Quokka Vision is a carbon-neutral company - all of the carbon emitted producing Quokka Sunglasses has been offset, including the carbon emissions from our offices and staff. Our primary mission is to produce sunglasses with a net-positive impact on the environment, so we've been carbon neutral since the day we started.
Our carbon emissions are calculated in accordance with international standards by an independent third-party and our emissions certification and details of our offset program for the company can be viewed here. In addition, each pair of Quokka Sunglasses are carbon offset, and a QR code to verify that your sunglasses are carbon neutral is included with your glasses.
CLOSING THE LOOP
We're committed to removing plastic from the ocean and sustainably reusing resources, which means when your Quokka Sunglasses reach the end of their life we don't want them going back into landfill or ending up back in the ocean. Through our Boomerang program, you can return your sunglasses for repair or replacement at a significant discount. We'll reuse your glasses where possible, or recycle them again!
